Straight answers about what you're getting into.
What is required for beta testing?
A beta test group needs two things: an individual or group willing to invest in SenseCAP T1000-E radio devices — one per vehicle — and at least one Android tablet in the group to run the GroupTrack application. The software is free during the beta program.
Are iPads supported?
Not presently. An iOS port requires demonstrated interest and a use case that supports the extended development effort for an Apple device. If your group is iPad-based, reach out and make your case — it helps prioritize the roadmap.
Do I need cell service or WiFi on the trail?
No. GroupTrack runs entirely over LoRa mesh radio in the field. You need internet access once before the ride to download map tiles for your area. After that, everything works with WiFi and cell completely off.
How many riders can I track?
GroupTrack supports up to 10 active nodes on the convoy map. The more riders in your group, the greater your mesh range — each radio automatically relays for others in the network.
What else should I know before reaching out?
A sense of humor is required. You are on the leading edge of technology and the development and support team is one person — not a cast of thousands.
How do I apply for beta testing?
Send an email to info@grouptrack.org with: a description of your testing group and the riding scenarios you plan to test, a brief insight into your technology comfort level, and your Android OS version if you already have a device. Android 14 or above preferred — Android 10 and below will not work.
